NICK
C. KOTTIS
 Nick Kottis joined the
Firm in October 1997. Prior
to joining, he had been a Senior Patent Attorney at Morton
International, Inc., a multi-billion dollar chemical conglomerate,
and in-house patent counsel for Amoco Corporation.
Mr. Kottis specializes in preparing and prosecuting U.S.
and international patent appli- cations and counseling clients
regarding patent infringement and validity.
Mr. Kottis earned his B.S.
in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in 1980, and his
J.D. from the University of Texas in 1984.
Mr. Kottis is admitted to practice in Illinois, Indiana and
before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
He is active in numerous professional organizations.
Mr.
Kottis has the benefit of more than ten years prior experience as
in-house patent counsel and in managing variously sized patent
portfolios. Through
such experience, Mr. Kottis appreciates and is sensitive to the
implications of patent decisions in today's business environment.
Mr. Kottis now serves as
outside patent counsel to a number of multi-national companies
known for innovation in their respective fields.
